You must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, work autonomously with a variety of experimental techniques, and be comfortable presenting results to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee synthesis, purification, and characterization of peptides that would eventually be developed as radiotherapies; The goal is to identify suitable exit vectors on the peptide backbone for attachment of linkers and chelators while maintaining potency and selectivity for the targets of interest.
  • Develop and utilize innovative synthetic, medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology problem solving skills coupled with analysis of diverse data sets to build structure-activity relationships.
  • Act as key member of a multidisciplinary research team, assisting or leading with development of project strategy, and analysis and communication of complex data.
  • Serves as an in-house peptide chemistry expert from discovery to CMC activities.
  • Drive the writing of technical reports to support patent applications and manuscript preparations.

  • Strong experience in peptide (linear, cyclic, bicyclic etc.) chemistry and multi-step organic synthesis is required. Hands-on experience with manual and automated systems for solid-phase synthesis of peptides is essential for this role.
  • Experience in the design, chemical optimization, and formulation/delivery of peptides is required. Experience in modifying the peptides to influence metabolic stability, solubility and pharmacokinetic properties of the peptides is highly desirable.
  • Experience with working with CROs in the peptide field is essential.
  • Experience leading the design & optimisation of peptides from hit validation through to Candidate nomination is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the discovery & development of peptide radioligands is highly desirable.
  • Experience with using analytical techniques/instrumentation for peptides purification and characterization such as Reverse Phase HPLC/UPLC, MALDI-TOF and Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) is desirable.

About Us

ARTBIO is a clinical-stage radiopharmaceutical company redefining cancer care by creating a new class of alpha radioligand therapies (ARTs). The unique ARTBIO approach selects the optimal alpha-precursor isotope (212Pb) and tumor-specific targets to create therapeutics with the potential for highest efficacy and safety. The company's AlphaDirect™ technology, a first-of-its-kind 212Pb isolation method, enables a distributed manufacturing approach for the reliable production and delivery of ARTs. ARTBIO is advancing multiple pipeline programs with lead program AB001 currently in first in human trials. ARTBIO is shaped by a long-standing scientific legacy with nearly a century of pioneering work in radiation therapy conducted at the University of Oslo and Norway’s Radium Hospital.
