Senior Scientist / Principal Scientist, Radiobiology

Summary
We are seeking a Senior/Principal Scientist in Radiobiology to join our growing Translational Biology team. We are also open to relocating new colleagues to Oslo! In this role, you will play a key part drug discovery and development to advance our innovative pipeline of targeted radiotherapies designed to revolutionize cancer treatment.

Responsibilities

    • Manage, plan and execute in-vitro radiobiology studies to enable development of ARTBIO novel radioligand candidates from early Discovery to IND-readiness according to the company’s strategy.
    • Design and execution of radiolabelling and analytical characterisation of radioligands and assessment of quality in close collaboration with the in-vitro radiochemistry team.
    • Interface with project team and leadership to lead project goals and experimental design for drug development.
    • Collaborate with external vendors and academic facilities for sourcing of reagents and execution of experimental activities.
    • Provide mentorship and supervision to other ARTBIO preclinical team members so that experiments and projects are performed according to plan and internal ways of working.
    • Support writing of regulatory documentation related to pre-clinical studies for RLT candidates selected for clinical development.
    • Provide deep scientific expertise to guide selection of novel targets, candidate molecules and best experimental approaches to address relevant, scientific questions.
    • Develop innovative solutions to mitigate research challenges & increase throughput and processes efficiency.
    • Oversee data collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting and presentation.
    • Multi-task and collaborate effectively with other scientists and research associates to accomplish goals on tight timelines. Ability to navigate in a start-up environment and adapt in the ‘unknown’
    • Maintain compliance with lab documentation to enable collaboration among multinational project teams
    • Analyse experimental results, brainstorm and troubleshoot findings thoughtfully and proactively
    • Work seamlessly in matrixed environment to ensure technical support across programs

Qualifications & Education

    • Phd or equivalent degree in Molecular Biology, Radioligand therapy development, Radiation Biology, or other relevant discipline with a significant laboratory-based skills component.
    • At least 5 years working in research projects, particularly in drug discovery and in vitro testing of novel radioligands.
    • Preferred industry experience, preferably radioligand therapy or oncology.
    • Good English speaking and writing skills.
    • Critical understanding of the principles of receptor pharmacology theory and experimental methodologies to assess ligand binding.
    • Specific experience with radioligand therapy development, including radiolabelling and radiopharmaceutical applications.
    • Proficiency in radiation safety practices and regulations, including working with open sources and radionuclides.
    • Proven ability to develop, optimize, and validate novel in-vitro methods and techniques and creating and implementing high throughput screening methods to streamline research processes.
    • Experience with Analytical Techniques such as use of gamma counters, Germanium Detectors, Dose calibrators, Thin Layer Chromatography and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography is a plus.
    • Conducting and interpreting internalization assays to understand cellular uptake of radioligands.
    • Strong analytical skills for processing and interpreting complex experimental data.
    • Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams and contribute to collaborative research efforts.
    • Excellent communication skills for writing reports, preparing presentations, and publishing research findings.
    • Experience managing research projects, timelines, and resources.
    • Line management experience, including supervising and mentoring junior scientists.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and innovation in addressing research challenges.
